About these plans
Build a backyard mud kitchen made for mud pies, water play, and whatever else young imaginations dream up. We designed this roomy freestanding version with two sinks, a pretend cooktop, lower storage, utensil hanging, a full backsplash, and a sloped metal roof—and gathered all the details into a detailed set of build plans that takes all the guesswork out of building your own.
Your download includes our 26-page illustrated build plan, a separate seven-page optimized lumber shopping list, visual cut list, and finally a 3MF file with 3D printable stovetop burners, knobs, a 4 × 4 opening template, and shelf spacer. The plans use imperial measurements and are best suited to an intermediate builder who is comfortable with common woodworking tools. We also included optional running-water and drain details along with all of the parts that we used on our build.
The finished kitchen shown here measures approximately 69 1/2 in W × 31 1/4 in D × 50 1/2 in H. Plan on about 2–3 days of active shop time and roughly $250–$400 in materials, depending on local prices and the optional accessories you choose. Lumber, sinks, faucets, roofing, hardware, printed parts, and other physical materials are not included. You’ll only need a 3D printer and compatible slicer if you want to use the optional printed accessories. Alternatively, you can add on the optional maker's pack and we will send you a full set of the 3D printed accessories. If a plan detail leaves you unsure, send us a note—we’re happy to help with reasonable clarification. Custom redesigns and resizing are not included.
